For 100 years now, we as the family-owned company PICARD have been successfully active in the national and international bearing business. Our company is aware of the opportunities, but also the challenges of a globalised world – which is why we have been committed to sustainable business management for years.

We are guided by the UN’s SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and are part of the ÖKOPROFIT project – a cooperation project between municipalities and local companies in Germany for corporate environmental protection. As part of this campaign, PICARD has now been awarded for its excellent results.

Our steps for a greener tomorrow

• Through intelligent lighting concepts such as LED tubes, lighting control via daylight availability and the switching of motion detectors in the shelves, we have already been able to reduce our electricity consumption in the warehouse by 60,000 kWh.
• Outside the warehouse, a large wildflower meadow on the company grounds provides much-needed habitat for insects.
• PICARD employees have the opportunity to take advantage of e-bike leasing offers in order to reduce private emissions and promote their own health at the same time.

And that is just the beginning: Through a sustainability strategy and regular environmental reporting, we want to make our contribution to achieving the Sustainability Goals 2030 – we are supported in this by B.A.U.M Consult. Together with 13 other companies in the ÖKOPROFIT Vest Recklinghausen project group, 1.4 million kWh of electricity and over 1,200 tons of CO2 emissions were saved this year alone.
